HHS Quarter 2 Student of the Quarter nominees for display RESPECT!
Friday night between varsity games, we honored TWO Red Hawk Power of One Awards–one to a teacher and one to a student.
Mrs. Libby Dean was nominated by SEVEN students! Those students had the following to say about Mrs. Dean: “She always is so positive even if she is having a bad day and will go above and beyond to make her classes fun for all students. She is very good at her job. She's very patient with her students and understands that everyone has bad days, including the teachers. She is such a fun teacher and she is someone you can talk to about anything and she will give you 100% honesty.” Students describe Mrs. Dean as “kind, diligent, dedicated, uplifting, and one of the kindest teachers in the school and very understanding of people's differences.” One student said Mrs. Dean “Works so hard to make English class engaging for students.” Another said, “She genuinely cares about her students and loves watching us succeed. She constantly reminds us that failure makes success so much sweeter. She is one of the easiest people to talk to and I appreciate her as a teacher.” Mrs. Dean, we are so proud to have you as a member of our HHS teaching staff!
Our February student recipient of the Red Hawk Power Of One Award is Mr. Gabriel Shaw! Gabriel is an amazing young man and has a heart of gold! He is super kind and supportive to all of his friends. He always encourages others when they are down. Gabriel has been beyond helpful when the staff had to deal with recent medical emergencies in the classroom. They can always count on Gabriel to swiftly & accurately notify the office of our needs. He is always willing to be flexible and eager to help out wherever & however he can. Gabriel has been the classroom hero in Life Skills! We are so proud of Gabe!
