Hiawatha FBLA took a field trip to Kansas City to learn about the Federal Reserve Bank. Finished the day at Top Golf for lunch.

The Hiawatha Red Hawk Forensics Team is looking for individuals willing to judge at our home meet April 6, 2024
Training will be provided, breakfast and lunch will be served. 🙂
Please note we use the High School and the Middle School for our tournament. Should you need to stay in one building for the day, please note that in the comment area.

Posting for finals in the commons area as soon after Round 3 as possible.

Congratulations to the Hiawatha Red Hawk Forensics team who competed against 11 teams at the Atchison High School Invitational Saturday placing 3rd overall!
Senior Zoey Hedrick placed 3rd in Poetry qualifying her for State Champs & State Festival in that category. Placing 5th in Humorous Solo Acting (HSA).
Senior Lyle Simmons placed 2nd in Serious Solo Acting (SSA)qualifying him for State Champs & State Festival in that category. Placing 5th in Improvised Duet Acting (IDA) with acting partner Senior Payton Teel.
Senior Eli Hoschouer placed 3rd in Program of Oral Interpretation (POI).
Senior Levi Fleagle placed 5th in Program of Oral Interpretation (POI).
Junior Tori Wist placed 1st in Program of Oral Interpretation (POI) qualifying her for State Champs & State Festival. Tori also placed 6th in Prose.
Junior Mark Stroud placed 4th in Program of Oral Interpretation (POI).
In addition the Atchison team gave a tidy table award which our Red Hawks won & a best hair award which came home with Tori Wist!
Congratulations again to the forensics team who continue to grow every meet!

HMS Geography Bee in Google Maps Class
Congratulations to the participants and winners of the HMS Google Maps Class Geography Bee. Students in Mr. Hampl's 7th & 8th Grade Google Maps class competed. Topics included State Stats, Weird But True Geography, and Odd One Out. This year's prizes included Italian Pizza Pringles, Nacho Takis, and Cinnamon Churro Twists. 3rd Place: Ryker Massey, 2nd Place-Rowdy Bruning, 1st Place-Jackson Moore.
