Greetings Red Hawk Family,
We hope this communication finds you and your family well. As it is customary for this time of year, our district and board are planning for the next calendar year. Of course, this is much more complicated than in previous years. As of now, we cannot speak to what the upcoming months will bring regarding a variety of factors that impact schools, students, and families.
Schools and families have now been working in the continuous learning plan model for a month. Our teachers have developed their instructional routines. It is our hope your family has developed a routine as we recognize the value of consistency for our children. If you’re like me, you need it as well. We continue to gather input from our teachers and staff as we seek to refine our practice and plan for next steps. We also wish to gather input from parents. To this end, we have sent parents a link for a parent survey.
As May approaches, we are focusing on our Hiawatha High School Seniors. As you know, these students have missed out on many of the typical senior year highlights. While we strive to replace or replicate some of those traditions and experiences, we know there is seldom a suitable substitute for the real thing. Our district will finalize graduation plans very shortly and then communicate that plan. In the meantime, we hope you are following our social media, website live feed, and print media as we recognize each senior. Please follow us as we share the good news in USD 415. It is my hope you will get a glimpse of some of the amazing things that continue to happen in our schools. More specifically, my hope is you see the great things our students and staff are doing in these unprecedented circumstances.
As our entire Red Hawk family works to rise to this challenge I want to thank you for your continued support of our schools and students. As we begin to more fully understand the related challenges ahead, it is comforting to know we have the support of our community. Together, we are Red Hawk ready! Thank you.
Sincerely,
Lonnie Moser, Superintendent
